Chicken Little, give it a rest. Only sandal-munching, lentil-weaving Guardian readers believe in MMGW. The rest of humanity is quite capable of recognising climate fluctuations as a normal part of life.

I can't believe that you're still banging this stupid drum, have you run out of interesting subjects to troll?

Shall I run round to Al Bionic's bookie and place a bet that this won't be the last time this topic gets raised?

I work in renewable energy.

£££££££££££££££££££££££

You wouldn't believe how much money is being thrown at it. All of it from the tax payer. I thank you all for your generosity, it is currently buying me a six bedroomed log cabin, built to my specifications on the Isle of Skye by Latvians. Sauna, boat shed, wine cellar, five ensuites, underfloor (slate)heating etc etc etc.

Again, I thank you all. As long as you lot keep believing, I can keep shovelling money into the bank.

(PS. What brought the last ice age to an end? Global warming? Or man made global warmimg. Ah.....thought so. Idiots)

What point are you trying to make here? Are you trying to suggest that because ice ages can have natural causes, that means that Global warming CANNOT be man made?

By that twisted logic you could argue tthat because there are lots of natural fires, there can be no such thing as arson.

Congratulations!

Take plenty of warm clothes. I just hope your house is finished before the Gulfstream changes course.

Your bollocks will freeze!

Muggins!

Current HYS poll

http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_ ... rol_prices

when asked 'When will petrol prices force you to give up your car?'

from options: now, @£1.50 , £2 or NEVER

roughly 63% say NEVER

poll size roughly 9300 and rising.

Just thought I would throw that in. Make what you will of it.

Firstly, by no means the entire science community support the MMGW theory. It is only the "believers" that get any publicity. "Global warming - no need to worry" is hardly going to sell newspapers is it?

Secondly those that do have a huge vested interest in keeping the theory alive as it will keep them in work for their lifetimes.

Thirdly, I have never seen any report from these scientists that looks remotely scientific. They use phrases like "It is now virtually certain that human activity is causing global worming" Causing what percentage of global warming? 100%? 50%? Where are the figures? What percentage of global CO2 production is caused by humans? The figure quoted in Hansard earlier this year is 3% (THREE PERCENT). So if we all stayed in bed forever using no electricity, never using a car, etc etc etc, global CO2 would reduce by THREE PERCENT. That isn't even the range of experimental error in calculating it.

MMGW is the emperor's new clothes for the 21st century.

More claptrap from Moz, whose deathbed conversion after a lifetime of consumption and carbon emissions looks increasingly like a plea for absolution from his own conscience.

Why do people not believe the ridiculously hysterical 'predictions' of the climate change lobby?

Is it because they are sick of all the bogus science that keeps changing with every new report, just so these so-called experts can keep their gravy train rolling?

Is it because they are sick of failed American politicians who, having done nothing about US oil consumption when they had the chance, now fly their bloated carcasses (plus entourage) to exotic locations like Bali, instead of using teleconferencing to get their 'message' across?

Is it because they see a hypocritical Labour Government preparing to cynically tax the arse off everybody under the guise of 'global warming,' only to squander the money on more of the disasterous socialist bollocks that have wrecked the UK in ten short years?

No? Perhaps it's the fact that none of these campaigners are prepared to accept the real truth... that overpopulation is the core reason why the human race is doomed. Unless and until the UN calls for zero population growth, the hand wringing socialists and liberals who want the west to give up the technologies they have worked so hard to develop are wasting their time. Just how many billions does the planet's population have to reach before the kind of naive wanker that set up Mozo's quoted site realises the real problem?

Anyway, Mozo, here's a challenge for you. Lay out - clearly and unequivically - your solutions. Let's hear your detailed plans to address the crisis, and tell us how you've put them into practice in your own world. And no more slogans and banal platitudes please - you have set yourself up as some kind of expert on this, so let's hear your wisdom.

If your link is anything to go by, I can't wait.

Nope sorry you are wrong. The entire scientific community accept the theory. Guys like Lizden (sp?) are now so isolated they are ignored, because they have nothing.

I think you will find that "Global warming - no need to worry" would sell millions of papers.

What difference does the percentages mean if it is the three percent that causes the problem then it is the three percent we have to control. The Carbon cycle is a natural occurance, but it is the extra three percent that has caused the problem.

Here's another current HYS discussion (i'm only citing these because they generally are far wider read than other similar discussion groups)

http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread. ... #paginator

When asked: 'What will climate change talks achieve?'

Roughly 2600 respondants so far.

Most popular comment with 318 recommendations is;

'If you say a lie loud enough and long enough people will eventually believe it to be true" - Joseph Goebbles

That is as true when spoken as it is today

People seem to have lost all their senses and latched on to this new quasi religion of "environmentalism"and how we must repent for our sins at its alter

The climate IS changing, just as it always has done and will do in the future

The Earths climate and eco-systems have never stayed still and are always in a state of flux'

second most recommended with 259 is;

'No, a new climate change deal will have no effect on global climate. The causes of climate change are entirely natural. I challenge true believers in MMGW to look up the facts. The human contribution to the greenhouse effect is about 0.28%. Man-made CO2 accounts for a little over 0.1%. It is INSIGNIFICANT. Even if we could completely eliminate human CO2 emissions (impossible) it would have no impact on global climate. MMGW is about politics, not science.'

..and the third with 238 is;

'World Population Control, why does nobody talk about this in Bali.
50% reductions in carbon footprints will be just about useless if we increase the world population by 50% in the next 40 years Emmisions and world population go hand in hand and it is about time the short sighted leaders of this world faced up to the fact.'

Just thought I would throw this in. Make what you will of it.

I'll only believe governments are serious in their protestations about MMGW when they seriously tax household heating fuel. Like that will happen any time soon.

Until then it all looks hypocritical.
