I have told my kids I want Wild Thing by the Troggs played at my funeral, (along with Concerto de Aranjuez of course).

Keep fighting Dave. Never give in. Good lad.

My suggestion is to keep the music up tempo.

So: The Carpenters "Top of the World" or
Daniel Boone "Beautiful Sunday".

My funeral will close with Louis Armstrong - What a wonderful world.

I have had a lucky life, and I'm sure some will say it is better without me!

Below is the music I have requested for my service. As it will be a Humanist service, with absolutely no religious input whatsoever, the aftermath of my cremation will be at my local British Legion club.

I have always loved music, and I hope that my instructions will be followed.

1) Opening movement of Beethovens 6th symphony, (Pastoral) played by the East - Western Divan orchestra at the Proms recorded in 2012, conducted by Daniel Baranboim.
2) Mahler’s 5th Symphony, the Adagietto .
3) Intermezzo from ‘Cavaleria Rusticana’. The late Lim Kek-tjiang conducts Evergreen Symphony Orchestra
4) The John Dunbar theme from the film ‘Dances with Wolves’ played by the City of Prague Orchestra.
5) ‘On a Theme of Paganini’ by Rachmaninov, the 18th (reversed) theme played by Vladimir Askenazy.
6) Ralph Vaughn-Williams ‘Five Variants of Divas and Lazarus’
7) Faure’s ‘In Paradisum’.
8) And finally, ‘Nimrod’, from Elgar’s ‘Enigma Variations’ conducted by the late Sir Colin Davis.

That'll do me!

I haven't chosen any music, if my wife asks I'll say 'surprise me'

I most definitely am not having hymns sung at my funeral. They are bloody awful. In any case, it always ends up as being 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' because that's the only one the congregation actually knows.

I would love to have "the Winker (wanker) song" by Ivor Biggun and the Red Nosed Burglars at my service. Imagine that blaring out to the congregation - "Oh Mrs Palm and your five lovely daughters" etc, etc...

Not the jibd oc news ghat I want to hear after my break from here.

Two classics from the early sixties, both by Bernard Cribbins

As they bring the coffin in, "Right said Fred"

As you are lowered into the ground, "Hole in the ground".

That is what I have asked for but my wife has vetoed the idea.

If perchance, Richard, she goes before you, you could always play them at hers...............

'Thank you' by Led Zep - the words say everything.
'Let me down easy' by the Stranglers - that's just me.
the end.
or is it the start?

Bottom line , Dave, is that we at GOM do not give in without a fight.
Never mind this Christmas we expect, nay, demand that you are here
rocking and rumbling, moaning and whinging Christmas 2018.
Are we clear ?

For me , I want this played, it suits the mood and will wipe the smiles off the faces of those that think I've been having a good time. "I'll never get out of these blues alive" John Lee Hooker.
